On Thursday evening, we were delighted to win the Business Start-Up Award at the Scottish Rural Awards. The ceremony and gala dinner was held at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh to celebrate the enterprise, innovation, dedication and community spirit of those who live in rural Scotland.
We had over 70 nominations in our category and a very competitive short-list of ten – so being named the winner is fantastic recognition of the work everyone has put in to make sure GlenWyvis gets off to the best possible start – as the world's first 100% community-owned distillery.
Congratulations to fellow Dingwall business Highland Cookhouse on winning the runners up award. Brilliant evening for Dingwall!
The Scottish Rural Awards are the ultimate benchmark of excellence in Scotland's countryside. Now in their fourth year, the Awards are partnered by Scottish Field and the Scottish Countryside Alliance, in association with the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS). The three tickets for the GlenWyvis team were funded through prize money won from the Plunkett Foundation in December.
