GlenWyvis founding director John Mckenzie has spent the last few days looking for inspiration from the amazing Iceland and their world class power production with nearly 100% coming from renewable sources. John was kindly hosted by Eva and the Thorkelsson brothers at Eimverk Distillery, home of double gold award winning Vor Gin and Floki Whisky. This included a Vor tasting and a GlenWyvis/Vor bottle swap.
Reykjavik's stunning architecture also served as fine examples and ideas when thinking about our own visitor centre here in Dingwall. Innovation plays a key role here at GlenWyvis and we will seek out new ideas, where ever they may be.
Our Burns Nectar single malt whisky, bottled by The House of MacDuff for Glen Wyvis and limited to just 300 individually numbered bottles, will go on general sale on St Andrews day.
GlenWyvis got a great reception tonight at Lady Claire Macdonald's cooking demonstration for Marie Curie. Local Highlanders loved our gin and our samples never lasted long! People also showed a keen interest in our aim to create Scotland's first community owned distillery.
