More than just another Gin: Discovering the Spirit of GlenWyvis GoodWill Gin
To mark Scottish Gin Day 2025, we look back at the Good our “GoodWill Gin” has done over the last few years.
The GoodWill Fund: Our Commitment in Action
The spirit of cooperation runs deeper than the dram itself. It is embodied by the GlenWyvis GoodWill Fund, which allocates 5% of all online sales to local initiatives. Our community-ownership structure ensures that our success is immediately shared with the people and projects around us.
A Strong Foundation: The 2024 Impact
In 2024, our fund proudly disbursed £20,000 in grants, supporting a diverse range of local causes:
- Culture & Heritage (£8,650): Funding the digitisation of historic maps (NOSAS), improving accessibility at Dingwall Museum, and supporting the Dingwall Gaelic Choir’s 70th anniversary concert.
- Education & Welfare (£2,270): Providing vital resources for children, including sensory room refurbishment at St. Clement’s School, equipment for Dingwall Ducklings Nursery, and support for a primary school lunch club addressing stress and anxiety.
- Enterprise & Infrastructure (£9,058): Backing the set-up of an ethical community shop in Strathpeffer and maintaining Dingwall Community Council’s mobile performance stage.
2025: Riding the Wave for Scottish Achievement
This year, our commitment extends to supporting a truly monumental Scottish endeavor. We are incredibly proud to partner with Scotland the Wave, the first all-female, Scottish team to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic in the ‘World’s Toughest Row’ this December.
- The Challenge: Four remarkable Scottish women—Andrena, Fiona, Heather, and Nicola—will row continuously for up to 60 days, battling 20ft waves and extreme conditions to raise money for multiple charities, including Breast Cancer UK, Scottish Charity Air Ambulance, and the RNLI.
- Our Partnership: To support their immense fundraising efforts and help them cover the £100,000+ cost of the challenge, we created a bespoke, limited-edition GoodWill Gin bottling earlier this summer. A significant portion of the revenue from every bottle sold went directly to the team and their chosen charities.
This collaboration is a perfect reflection of what GlenWyvis stands for: supporting courage, endurance, and the pioneering spirit of Scotland. It demonstrates that our GoodWill isn’t confined to a postcode—it powers Scottish ambition, no matter how vast the ocean it seeks to cross.
Keep your eyes peeled for our next Charity bottling, with the Highland Hospice coming soon.
Next time you are reaching for a gin, we invite you to pause and consider the story in the bottle.
Choose the GlenWyvis GoodWill Gin—and you choose a spirit that tastes good, does good, and represents the enduring spirit of the Scottish Highlands, from our local museum to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
