You should have a passion for the products you sell but also remember the importance of being professional.
What was your first role at Kirsch?
I started in the warehouse and customer service like everyone else but quickly started to get involved in purchasing which is still my favourite part of the business.
What is your favourite industry event or festival to attend?
Whisky Live Paris and The Village in Nürnberg Germany
What is your preferred tipple?
Whisky neat.
What are your top three whiskies, (excluding GlenWyvis)?
Edradour 12 y.o., Ballechin 10 y.o. and Elsburn Journey from Germany
What has been your most memorable tasting?
I would have to say the first time I tried Ardbeg 10 y.o. is one of my most memorable tastings. Other then that I was very fortunate to taste many superb whiskies so far so it is difficult to pick a winner.
If you could enjoy a dram with someone famous, who would you chose and why?
No one really comes to mind, I prefer to enjoy the drams with friends and family.
Do you think your profession changes how you drink whisky, or would you say it deepens your appreciation for it?
When you have tasted hundreds of whiskies before it certainly looses the fascination of each new dram. Still every once in a while you come across something really special which is the great part of the endless world of discovering amazing whiskies.
Kirsch will be celebrating 50 years in business in 4 short years, do you have any plans to commemorate such an occasion?
We will certainly commemorate the occasion with some very special anniversary bottlings, hopefully also one from GlenWyvis Distillery !
