GlenWyvis Distillery to partner with leading social care charity Cornerstone for event raising vital funds
April 2022; GlenWyvis Distillery will celebrate whisky and community spirit while raising funds for leading social care charity Cornerstone at an event on 17th June 2022.
Taking place at Bogbain Farm in Inverness, the ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dram’ event will focus on GlenWyvis Distillery’s inaugural release Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, with tastings and an auction of bottle number one. All money raised through the event and charity auction will help Cornerstone support 1,800 people across Scotland with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.
As the world’s first 100% community-owned distillery, early-bird tickets went on sale initially to GlenWyvis Distillery’s members and shareholders, and are now open to the public.
“With our first whisky being released at the end of last year, we’re really excited to finally share it at an event with our members and fellow whisky lovers, alongside representatives from our wonderful charity partner for the event, Cornerstone,” explains Matthew Farmer, GlenWyvis Distillery Manager.
“A Midsummer Night’s Dram will be a real celebration of the community spirit of GlenWyvis. Our inaugural release whisky is the first to be produced in Dingwall in almost a century, so this celebration has been a long time coming! I look forward to a great night of whisky, food and music – all while raising funds for Cornerstone.”
The event will include a three-course meal and entertainment by Highland Fire Ceilidh.
Julia Smith, Public Fundraising Manager at Cornerstone, said: “Cornerstone enables people across Scotland with disabilities to live their best possible lives. And it’s through events like A Midsummer Night’s Dram that we can continue to deliver services to those who need it.
“We’re delighted to partner with GlenWyvis Distillery for the event and look forward to raising a dram with you all!”
