A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an independent distillery manager to have significant influence over the development of a unique, new single malt whisky, based in Dingwall.

GlenWyvis Distillery was founded in 2016.  It is now fully operational after having successfully raised nearly £4m from about 3,800 shareholders – – a high proportion of whom live in the surrounding IV postcode areas.  It is the first community-owned distillery in the UK, with the aim of creating long-term wealth for the benefit and regeneration of the local community.  It is about to embark on the next phase of its growth.  In addition to producing single malt whisky, GlenWyvis also produces the multi-award winning and highly-acclaimed GoodWill craft gin.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough grounding in the art of distilling single malt whisky, experience of warehousing and bottling, familiarity with the regulatory excise regime, drive, enthusiasm, self-confidence and a commitment to the ethos of the society.  Although not essential, any candidate who can also show significant experience of general management or of running a small business will have a distinct advantage.

Potential candidates should in the first instance e-mail Duncan Tait explaining why he/she would be a good fit for this role.  Further information will be supplied as appropriate.  The remuneration package is negotiable.
